Eve Chaney Obituary
Eva "Eve" Florence Chaney, 83, passed away on August 29, 2015 in Ellensburg, WA. She was born on December 20, 1931 in Los Angeles, California to Wesley Starr and Frieda Florence (Waldorf) Dunham.
In 1951, Eve married Wayne Krogstie. Although this marriage ended in divorce, Wayne and Eve remained very good friends until his death in 1983. In 1956, Eve married Harvey "Nick" Chaney. They remained married until 1969 but, as with Wayne, remained very good friends until Nick's death in 2008. Through both of these marriages, Eve became the mother of six daughters.
Eve went on to work at various jobs to support her family which included working as a games clerk at Harrah's Casino in Reno, NV and as a customer service representative for T.C.I., now Charter Cable. She retired in 1999.
She loved sewing, drawing in Charcoal, crossword puzzles and played a mean game of cribbage. Eve also loved the great deals to be had shopping the local yard sales almost every Saturday. But truly, she loved her kids with every fiber of her being.
Eve is survived by her loving daughters Mona Krogstie, Diane Krogstie, Laura Chaney, Lynda (Michael Burtness) Chaney, Lisa (Kenneth) Holt and Elizabeth (David) Reynolds; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Dunham and granddaughter Raychel Rae Holt.
A special thank you to the staff at Hearthstone Cottage for the love and care you gave Eve while she lived there. She had many special friends and loved you all.
In honor of Eve's love of yard sales, we will celebrate her life with a memorial yard sale in early summer, 2016.
