Terry Davis Obituary

Terry LeRoy Davis, was born November 24th, 1934 in Ellensburg, Washington to Frances Violet (Cobain) Davis and Frederick Palmer Davis. He died peacefully at home with his family at his side on the evening of December 1st, 2010.

Terry Davis was born and raised in Ellensburg, Washington, spending much of his free time hunting, fishing, and camping in the surrounding hills and mountains. He graduated from EHS in 1953 and a short time later met Jacquie Himes, a student at Washington State Teachers College (CWU), while the two were working at Pictsweet Frozen Foods in Ellensburg. Terry and Jacquie fell in love and were married in Wenatchee on Thanksgiving Day, 1955. Terry often said that he got married on his birthday so he would never forget his anniversary and that Jacquie was the best thing that ever happened to him.

In the summer of 1956, Terry and Jacquie moved to Renton where Terry began working for Boeing in the Mockup department. The Davis family began in 1957 with the birth of their daughter, Debbie Lee. Their first son, Ronald Dean was born in 1958, followed by Sean Roy in 1962 and Todd Terry in 1964. Terry continued to work for Boeing until 1972 when the family moved back to Ellensburg and Terry started his own business, Davis Enterprise Appliance Repair.

In 1978 the Davis family moved near the foothills of Robinson Canyon. In the early 80s, Terry and Jacquie built their home by themselves and helped their son build his home on the same land in 2000. Terry retired in 1994 but stayed busy, constantly working on projects on his property and helping family and friends with their projects and repairs. Retiring also gave Terry more time to spend in the outdoors that he loved so much. Terry and Jacquie spent every deer and elk season of their retirement camping and hunting up Robinson Canyon.

Terry was preceded in death by his two sons Sean Roy Davis and Ronald Dean Davis, his father Frederick Palmer Davis, and his mother Frances Violet Davis. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline Davis, his daughter Debbie (Bob) Cernick, his son Todd (Missy) Davis , his grandchildren Katherine (Shawn) Staberow, Antonija (Jeff) Womeldorf, Angelina (Andrew) Rodstrom, Shelby Davis, and Sean Davis, his great-grandson Kelton Staberow, his brother Darwin (Pat) Davis, his nephew Dan (Sue) Davis, and his niece Bethany (Lars) Braun.

Terry Davis will be remembered as a wonderful husband and father, a skilled carpenter, mechanic, electrician, and plumber who could fix just about anything, and an outdoorsman. He was an honest man who never minced words and wasn't afraid to speak his mind.

Terry would say, in lieu of flowers, feed a deer and his family would like to suggest a donation to Friends of Hospice in his memory.

My prayers are with you Jacquie, Debbie, Sean and your children. I remember when you two were married and I was just a nine year old girl. I thought Terry was so handsome, but more than that, I remember his quiet gentleness. I know you will miss him. Ruth Vesber - Jacquie's cousin

God Bless you Mr. Davis. Thank you for your friendship, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your camp, thank you for the great campfire stories (well stretched and well told). Thank you for reminding me how to build a real fire without a gallon of gasoline. Thanks for helping me skin my first buck. I will always remember your grin and laughter sitting around the campfire as you told us about your exploits. I will always smile when I think of you.
Your friend, Rich
