Thomas E. Amos

AMOS, THOMAS E. “Ed”; of Waterford; August 7, 2014; at 81 years of age. Loving husband of Fran for 58 years; beloved father of Jeffrey Amos and Stephanie (John) Collins; grandfather of Cheyenne and Harley; brother of Tim (Doris) Amos; step-brother of Jeannine Shearer, Joann (the late Don) Beedle and the late Jack (the late Jo) McCaffrey. Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Korea. He retired from the Pontiac Fire Department as Chief in 1989 after 31 years of service and 10 years as guest relations at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital. Ed was a member of Masonic Shriners, Elks, VFW, American Legion, Oakland County Sportsmans Club and Japanese Pontiac Sisters City Club. A “go to” guy in the neighborhood Ed was a very giving person to his community and friends. Funeral Service Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 3382 Highland Rd., Waterford. Family will receive friends Wednesday 3 to 9 p.m. at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD and Thursday at church 10 to 11 a.m. Interment with Honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
