Donald Kneiert Obituary

Fort Atkinson, WI - Donald L. Kneiert, 86, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on August 25, 2025.

He was born in Little Prairie, Wisconsin, in 1938, to Francis (Bub) And Hazel (Clemons) Kneiert, where Don attended a one-room school house. Don then attended East Troy High School before graduating from University of Wisconsin Whitewater with a bachelor's degree in Education. He taught science, drivers education and coached but the thing is that he is remembered for the "bug collections, bird talks and secret fishing spots" with his professional partner, Mr. Richard Wanie. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, hunting, gardening and anything outdoors. Don was an avid woodcarver and would spend hours working on a project.

Don was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn (Jensen), and is survived by his children, Jackie Green (Doug), Jeff Kneiert (Carmen Alfonso) and Joy Asta (Anthony), grandchildren Dustin Green (Loren), Sam Green, Margo Kneiert (Christian), August Asta, Niki Kneiert, Olivia Asta, Mike Kneiert, Abigail Asta and great-grandson Jack Green.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be shared with the family at nitardyfuneralhome.com.
