John Pfeifer Obituary
John was born January 30, 1937, in Fort Atkinson, WI, the son of John and Leona (Pohlman) Pfeifer, Sr. He attended Jefferson High School and began working on his family farm at the age of 16. He worked for Friskies (now Nestle) for 40 years and retired in 1998. His interests included hunting, racing, birdwatching, and playing baseball with the Helenville team. He loved western movies, and he followed all Wisconsin sports teams closely. John was a longtime member of the Helenville Fire Department and served a number of years as President and Chief. John knew his Lord and Savior and served his church faithfully for many years as a member of church council and board of elders and served as a collector and on the church's school board. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting and musical events.
John is survived by: his sons Michael (Chris) Pfeifer of Green Bay and Ronald (Cari) Pfeifer of Fort Atkinson; their mother, Deanna; grandchildren Kaitlin (Abby), Thomas, Lauren (Mitchell), and Sarah (Will); a great-granddaughter Baily and one on the way; 3 nieces, Cheryl Rasmussen, Debbie (Jack) Seifert, Corlyn (Joe) Schreck; and other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, twin-sister Jean in her youth, and siblings Evelyn and Lester Pfeifer.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to friends and neighbors Neil and Candy, Mark and Sherry and Jill and Jr. for their loving care and acts of kindness.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter's Church or Helenville Fire Department.
A Christian funeral service will be held at 4:00PM on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church (School Gym) of Helenville, with Rev. Titus Buelow presiding. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of service in the Gym. He will be buried at St. Peter's Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, June 23, 2025.
