Ronald F. Plambeck

1931 - 2024

Milton, WI - Ronald F. Plambeck, 93, passed away at home on October 6, 2024. A longtime resident of Fort Atkinson and Milton, Ron is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean, his three daughters, Sandra (Hicks), Judy (Willison) and Beth (Ross), as well as eight well-loved grandchildren. Ron was preceded in death by his son Scott, in 2011.

Ron was born and raised in Chicago, Il. He and his identical twin brother, Don showed their love of all things mechanical and electronic early and spent their after-school hours operating a shop of sorts, fixing neighbors' radios and TV's. Both brothers enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school, where they excelled in aeronautical electronics.

After a career working for Nordland in Chicago as a (self-taught) electrical engineer, Ron and his family moved full time to their weekend retreat on Lake Koshkonong in Fort Atkinson, where he loved to sail his Hobe Cat, boat and waterski, and fix anything broken. In 1976, Ron started his own business (Best Test), an auto-electric repair company. Ron retired at age 83 to a farmhouse outside Milton where even at 93, he could frequently be found on his ZTR mower, keeping the grounds in good shape. We will all miss Ron and his classic jokes, stories and unique sense of humor.

Services will be held at a later date. The Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Milton is assisting the family with arrangements.
