Dalton Sampa Obituary
OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday,February 28, 2015 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas for Mr. Dalton Avery Sampa, Jr. a//k/a "Dago", 78, who passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Opelousas General Health System. Interment will be in St. Landry Catholic Cemetery in Opelousas.
Rev. Rev. Bartlomiej Jasilek, S.V.D. will be officiating the funeral services.
Surviving Mr. Sampa are: his wife, Dorothy A. Joubert Sampa of Opelousas; two sons, Shannon (Betty) Sampa and Shawn Sampa, both of Opelousas; three sisters, Alfreda Roberson (Edmond) and Gloria Broussard, both of San Antonio and Rose Griffith of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Shannon Sampa, Jr. and Shawn Sampa, Jr., both of Opelousas and Shantel Sampa of Lafayette; two great grandchildren, Constance Sampa and Shannon Sampa, III, both of Opelousas; special cousins, Gervaise Sampa of Katy, TX and Louis Guidry, Jr. of San Francisco, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Amy and Dalton Sampa, Sr.; his cousin, Paul Thibodeaux; and his maternal and paternal uncles and aunts.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited 9:00 a.m.
