Derek Bernard Obituary
OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Fresh Anointing Church for Mr. Derek Owen Bernard, 54, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Opelousas General Health System. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas.
Rev. Kerney Thomas, pastor of Fresh Anointing Church, will be officiating the funeral services.
Mr. Bernard is survived by: his wife, Denise Lewis Bernard of Opelousas; one son, Brandon Ricard (Christianne) of Baton Rouge, LA; three brothers, Frank Bernard, Jr. of Reserve, LA, Stewart Bernard (Dominique) of Windermere, FL and Kevin Bernard (Sheila) of Houston, TX; one sister, Deidra Bernard Dudley (Tyrone) of Kenner, LA; four grandchildren, Torian, Brandon, Rushad and Bela; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Joseph and Mary Julie Conway Bernard.
Visitation will be observed from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Fresh Anointing Church.
