Funeral Service will be held on July 18, 2015 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, La at 11: AM.

Harold James (Shorty) Derousselle was peacefully called home on July 9, 2015 surrounded by his family, at the age of 59, after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Lieche Sonnier Derousselle for 33 years. He was born October 4, 1955 in Lafayette, La., and was the son of Joseph and Alice Derousselle. He attended Acadiana High School and was employed at Pellerin & Wallace Inc. (roofer) for 38 years. He enjoyed music, trailriding, dancing, and mostly spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Lieche Derousselle, two sons; Johnathan (Angelica) Sonnier of Ansbach of Germany and Jeremy Derousselle of Arnaudville, La., one daughter; Janessa Derousselle of Opelousas, La., six grandchildren; Alex, Alonah, and Aliyah Derousselle, Araya and Jathan Sonnier and Londyn Ford, his mother; Alice Provost Derousselle of Ridge, La., one brother; Byron (Lucille) Derousselle of Ridge, La., three sisters; Darlene (Floyd) Seria of Lafayette, La., Abby Gail Derousselle of New Orleans, La., and Kellen (Kirk) Malveaux of Lafayette, La., one brother-in-law; Steven Ellis of Carrolton, Texas along with a host of nieces, nephew, relatives and friends.

Harold is preceded in death by his father; Joseph (Boulon) Derousselle, sister; Erane Ellis, maternal grandparents; Cornelieus and Mary Provost, paternal grandparents; Joseph Sr. and Celeste Derousselle.

Special thanks to; Dr. James Cole, Dr. Dana Miller, Dr. Derek Metoyer, Dr. Bahan Danesthor, Opelousas General Hospital, and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care.

Visitation is from 7: AM to 10: AM, July 18, 2015 at Kinchen Funeral Home at 1011 North Saint Antoine Street, Lafayette, La. 70501.
