Merlin Clay Obituary
OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Melancon Funeral Home in Opelousas for George Merlin Clay, Jr., age 70, who passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at his residence in Opelousas.
Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Lewisburg.
Mr. Clay was a native and resident of Opelousas.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dora Landry Clay of Opelousas; three sons, Keith Clay of McDonough, GA, Kent Clay and his wife, Monette, and Kurt Clay all of Opelousas; three grandchildren, Dustin Clay of St. Augustine, FL, Paige Clay and Camille Clay, both of Opelousas; one sister, Geraldine Touchet; and one brother, Lee Clay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Merlin Clay, Sr. and the former Pearl O'Connor; two brothers, John "Johnny" Clay and Mr. Merlin's twin brother, Marvin Clay.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
