LECOMPTE - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Carter C. Raymond Jr. High School Gymnasium in LeCompte, LA for Pastor Richard Callihan, 60, who entered eternal rest on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, LA.
Interment will be in St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church cemetery in LeMoyen, LA. Pastor Murphy Riggs officiating.
Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia Callihan of LeMoyen, LA; three daughters, Shonta C. Randall (Tallys) of Bunkie, LA; Shanetha Moore (Steven) of Baton Rouge, LA and Erica Craig (Kendrick) of Brusly, LA; one son, Jarman Callihan (Felisha) of Palmetto, LA; three sisters, Mary Fontenot of Palmetto, LA; Willie Mae Holmes and Verda Hudson both of Port Arthur, TX; three brothers, Clarence Callihan of Port Arthur, TX; Leroy Callihan and Benjamin Callihan both of Palmetto, LA, 16 special grandchildren and 2 special great grandchildren.
Pastor Richard was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Callihan; his mother, Joycie Callihan; a son, Kenya Callihan; a daughter, Melissa Johnson; a sister, Martha M. Callihan and one brother, Wiley Callihan.
Visiting hours will be observed from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Carter C. Raymond Elementary School Gymnasium in LeCompte, LA.

My heart was so heavy when I received the news. I thank God for sharing you with me and my family. You will be greatly missed. Our family will continue to love and take care of Sister. My family condolences go out to the entire personal family and church family of Pastor Callihan. I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with him on various occasions and must say that he was a wonderful and caring person and he also baptized my daughter at Springhill BC. He will surely be missed by all that ever met him. God be with you in this very stressful time.

I will miss just meeting up with a Godly person/Pastor. He was someone that always had a kind word for you and spoke only the truth whether you liked it or not. My prayers are with his family. My last time I met up with him and his wife, we talked about some things and he told me to hang in there because God has my back. To Pastor Callihan's family,God will take care of you.
