This may be the most unsual entry of all--I met Gerry on an airplane and visited with her for about 2 hours. I am saddened almost as I would be for one of my family by her death--She still lives in my heart--I still have a one dollar bill with her name, email and phone number on it--I believe she bought me a bloddy Mary on the plane

God saw her getting tired and her cure was not to be, so he put his arms around her and whispered come with me. God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best.
My sister and I were fortunate to see Geri at her sisters home a couple of years ago. It was great to see her and be able to talk all night about the old days when we lived in the old neighborhood. All of our good times together, hanging out. Besides being from the same neighborhood we also worked together at Sears and Illinois Bell. She was beautiful, intelligent, sincere, funny, and a true fighter. She was fortunate to find someone that would promise to be true to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, and would love her and honor her all the days of her life. So I say "Thank you, Bob" for being her rock. I am so heart broken for the loss of my friend but she is in heaven dancing. One day I will see you again my good friend, rest in peace.

I also went to grammar school and high school with Geri and knew her wonderful sense of humor and laughter. I was able to see her after many years at our high school reunion, and, of course Geri didn't change with her humorous wit. I met her husband, Bob, at the reunion, and my deepest condolences to you and to the rest of Geri's family. May God be with you all during this most difficult time. I went through Grammar and High School with Gerry, she always made you laugh, Of course we lost touch with marrying and family things, but a few years ago I got in touch with Gerry, we had great talks, and with all she was going through still had that Gerry sense of humor, I know she was welled loved by her husband, never knew Bob but knew the love they had for each other was strong...My heart goes out to you Bob and prays to heal you through this difficult times...and to all her family..Sandy

As the Angels sang and the trumpets played - the pearlie gates opened wide and entered a true follower in Christ. Geri touched the hearts and lives of every child that walked this earth.. She was like a daughter to my parents and best friend ever that brought laughter into Connie and Gino's lives. My children and grandchildren saw her as their Aunt Geri..I saw her her as a glowing light when she entered the room. Our hearts and prayers go out to her and to her family. We will miss you Aunt Geri! Love you! Jane, Chad, Jennifer, Kaleb, Frankie, Christopher Adrianne and Evelyn Speas

Geri - Acronym for Greatest Enthusiastically Raucous Individual - I aspire to live with the enthusiasm, mischevious, fun loving attitude that Geri shared with us and so many others. Heaven is now graced by the crazy, wonderful, loving, joyous Geri. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Bob, and all those close family and friends who share in your loss.
