Craig Gould Obituary

Craig Wells Gould
Newburyport - Craig Wells Gould, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 13th, 2024. Affectionately known as Dad, Gouldie, Mouse, and Junior.
Born April 9th, 1965, to Joyce and Richard Gould, Craig spent most of his childhood in Darien, Connecticut, surrounded by his three brothers and many lifelong friends. Craig enjoyed skiing, lacrosse, football, but most of all rough-housing and getting into trouble with his older brothers!
Craig graduated from Darien High School and attended Lake Forest College. For the majority of his professional career, Craig was employed by Forrester in Cambridge, MA working as the Vice President of Global Events. Despite being accomplished in his career, Craig always maintained that his family was his greatest accomplishment.
Craig met the love of his life, Robin Hodge, in 1993 and married in 1997, in Weston, Connecticut. They moved to Newburyport, Massachusetts in 1998 and soon after started a family. Craig's family was everything to him and his children Andrew and Emily filled him with pride. Everything he did was to provide, protect, and support those he held close. Craig could always bring a smile to anyone's face with a witty joke or sarcastic remark; he was truly the life of the party.
While Craig's illness did not define his life, it brought his fighting spirit to the forefront. Craig received a double lung transplant in 2011, claiming that receiving his transplant was like "winning the lottery." He remained unwaveringly thankful for his donor and spent the twelve years following his transplant mentoring people going through lung disease and transplants any time he had the opportunity.
Craig will be remembered as a quick wit, accomplished fisherman, loving father, "fun uncle," and devoted friend. Craig leaves behind a legacy of perseverance and grit; regarded as a warrior by his family, friends and doctors alike. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Craig is survived by his parents, Joyce and Richard Gould, his wife Robin, son Andrew, and daughter Emily. Forever remembered by his siblings Richard Gould III (Nancy), Jeffrey Gould (Tracey), and Timothy Gould (Kristine) and cherished by his numerous nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed by his beloved dogs Scout and Bodhi. He is now reunited with grandparents and furry friends Tucker, Gracie, and Tanner.
