As I learn more, I'm named after him. I'm the son of John Hood, son of Morris Dale Hood from Zebulon. It makes me quite proud to see he was quite a distinguished individual. God bless.

Ed was a wonderful mentor and colleague for me in my early days on the Lincoln Electric Board. I am certain I was not the only beneficiary of his intellect and kind way of teaching. My heart is with Kay and the entire family.

Sending my heartfelt sympathy to Mrs. Hood and the Hood family. As a donor relations director, I was fortunate to meet Mr. Hood through his generous philanthropy at NC State. His passion for higher education and ensuring that students received scholarship support truly was amazing ---Natasha Byrd
