Jane Elinor Mullen Weber Hildreth passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family in Mystic CT on June 1, 2022. Our hearts are heavy with the passing of our wonderful mom, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. Jane is survived by her husband Charles Hildreth, her sister Nancy Erskine of Chatham MA, her son Timothy Weber, wife Julie and their children Megan, Max and Adam of Newtown CT, her daughter Amy Weber Keough, husband Daniel and their children Madeline and Thomas of Stow MA, her stepson Ross Hildreth of New Jersey and her stepdaughter Mary Hildreth Brown, husband Jeff and Mary's children Katie and Maureen of Sharon MA. Jane also leaves behind many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jane was born on November 13, 1941, in Boston MA. She was raised in Milton MA and attended MacDuffie School for Girls followed by Colby Junior College. After graduation Jane moved to New York City where she held a number of Administrative jobs and met her first husband Roy Weber. Jane and Roy were married in 1963 and moved to Darien CT. Roy suffered from kidney disease which ultimately took his life in 1975. This began a lifetime of helping others as Jane created an all- volunteer program to help drive kidney patients to their dialysis treatments. She was also instrumental in helping her church bring refugee families from Laos to reestablish their lives in America.
In 1980 Jane and Charles married and they lived a wonderful and adventurous life together in Darien CT. They enjoyed many years sailing the East Coast and chartered the Caribbean. They were avid skiers in the New England winters and loved attending operas, concerts and the theater with family and friends. They relished many years raising their children and loving their seven grandchildren. Jane lived a life in which helping care for others, leading by example and having fun were her most important cornerstones. She leaves behind a legacy of family and friends who will continue to follow in her amazing footsteps.
Jane is predeceased by her parents Helen and Norton Mullen, her first husband Roy Weber and her brother Thomas Mullen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Stoneridge Senior Living Community in Mystic CT on Saturday June 18, 2022 from 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the MS Society or the
