John Schlachtenhaufen Obituary

After a valiant five-year battle with pancreatic cancer, John Jeffrey Schlachtenhaufen died Monday, July 11 in his Lake Forest, Illinois home in the presence of his wife, Susie, his four children, Helen, John, Will, and Lucy, and his parents, Sally and John Also attending was Dr Scott Ramming, his Post 53 Darien High School friend, now a trauma doctor in Ashville, New Carolina who providentially happened on the scene at a crucial moment

 Mr Schlachtenhaufen  was born in Rochester NY on June 18, 1965 After being graduated from Darien High School in 1983, he was awarded degrees from Colgate University and Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth His career included positions of increasing responsibility at Anderson Consulting, Cargill, Renessen, and Graphic Packaging International primarily in strategic development, planning and execution  

In addition to those present at his death, Mr Schlachtenhaufen  is survived by his brother, Tom, and wife, Cynthia, and their children Anna, Jack and Kathryn and his sister, Amy, and her husband, Tom Barnouw, and their children, Amanda, Meg and Will and many aunts, uncles and cousins also adored Mr Schlachtenhaufen  and mourn his loss, his family said

A celebration of Mr Schlachtenhaufen 's life was held on July 16 at Christ Church Lake Forest In attendance were several dozen of his friends from Darien High, Colgate University and other places where he had created life long friends  Nearly 100 family members were present as well as several hundred friends from Lake Forest Former Darien High School classmates who participated in the service were Ross Jones, Scott Ramming and Mark P Beere  

Donations in his honor may be sent to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Research, where every dollar donated goes directly to fund research on this dreaded disease Please make any gifts in honor of  Jeff Schlachtenhaufen The address is 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY 11714
