Mary Scribner Obituary

Mary K Scribner, a 60-year resident of Darien, died on Friday, Dec 28 at Norwalk Hospital Born Nov 17, 1930 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Joseph T and Mary B Kelly She was 82

Mrs Scribner worked as an executive secretary for both Drury, Pearson, Ward and Pringle Law Firm in Stamford and Norwalk Hospital She was past president of Noroton Heights Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Hollow Tree Elementary School PTA and a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader She was a parishioner of St Thomas More RC Church

She is survived by her husband, Charles F Scribner of Darien and her children, Charles F Scribner, Jr and his wife Norma of Seymour; Jean S Allen and her husband Timothy of Clinton, NJ; James C Scribner and his wife Jennifer of Taghkanic, NY; and Lt Col Donald A Scribner, USMC, Ret and his wife Corey of Virginia Beach, Va She is also survived by her grandchildren, Craig Allen, Christopher Allen and Chad Allen of Clinton, NJ and Samantha Scribner of Virginia Beach, Va Also surviving are three sisters, Catherine Wright of Delaware; Anna Kelly of Stamford; Margaret Vitka of Greenwich and brother Joseph Kelly of Darien and many nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Rd on Monday, Dec 31 from 2 to 6 pm A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Jan 2 at 10:30 am at St Thomas More RC Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien Burial will be private
