Nara Amoruso, 87, mother of Tisha Amoruso Saffa of Darien, died Sunday, June 29, at her home in Stamford Ms Amoruso was born in Siena, Italy, to Livia and Palmiro Brogi and was the wife of the late Victor Amoruso, American World War II veteran and OSS war hero

They lived in Howard Beach, NY, for more than 40 years, where Ms Amoruso was a devoted mother and homemaker, as well as an accomplished seamstress and cook, her family said

She was an artist who loved music, especially opera, enjoyed theatre, crafts and travel, and had a passion for all things beautiful, her family said She was proud of her Tuscan heritage and her beloved Italy Her first thoughts, however, were always with her family, and she cherished her time with them above all else

Ms Amoruso was predeceased by her husband Victor, daughter Diane, and brother-in-law Michael Sepe She is survived by her sister Giuliana Sepe of Monroe Township, NJ; her children, Raymond Amoruso and his wife Tess of Norfolk, Va, Michael Amoruso of New York, NY, and Patricia Saffa of Darien

The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, on Tuesday, July 1, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Catholic mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 2, at 10 am at St John's Parish in Darien, followed by interment at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name, in honor of her grandsons Zach and Ryan Saffa, to Darien EMS-Post 53, Zero Ledge Road, Darien, CT 06820
