Peter Conetta Obituary

Peter Salvatore Conetta
Peter Salvatore Conetta, 98, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 27, 2021. He was born in Stamford on August 9, 1922 to the late Peter P. and Rose Denicola Conetta.
Pete lived in Stamford his entire life. He joined the Navy and proudly fought for his country in World War II. He worked 55 years as a tool and die maker and the owner of Bren-Dan, Inc. A devoted husband, loving father and the most adoring grandfather and great-grandfather, he was quick with a joke and enjoyed his daily gym and lunch dates with his many, many friends.
Peter is survived by his wife of 71 years, Vites Gerardi Conetta, his loving son, Dennis Conetta and his wife M'Liss, his daughter-in-law, Lynn Conetta, and his grandchildren, Kevin, Kait, Jen, Casey, Chris and Dennis, and grandson-in-law, Tommy, as well as his great-granddaughter, Margot.
Besides his parents, Peter was also predeceased by his son, Peter M. Conetta and his sister, Dorothy "Dot" DeLuca.
A Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart RC Church and Interment at St. John's RC Cemetery will be held privately. Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
A special thank you to his "Angel" and caregiver, Monica Rosales, and to all those who have cared for him and Vites over the years, especially Nelly Da la Cruz.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Peter's memory to an organization of your choice.

We always looked forward to Uncle Pete´s weekly visits on Saturdays ... for many reasons not the least of which was Dad (Gabe) would have fresh, hot bagels from Liz-Sue waiting ... the mutual love and respect Mom (Dot) and Uncle Pete had for one another was very special...

Rest In Peace , Uncle Pete ...

We miss you,

Love ,

So sad to hear of Pete´s passing. I remember him with great fondness as my protector when I was a kid running around where I shouldn´t be at the shop over 60 years ago. I still have the chess set he helped me make training me on the lathe and how to make the cutting tools. I think he was prouder of it when finished than I was. Many more stories now are flowing back to mind of his kindness and patience. Rest In Peace Mr. Pete.

I have fond memories of Mr Conetta from when I was a kid. I remember working at Bren Dan with Dennis on Saturday mornings, Mr Conetta teaching us how to work some of the big machines. I remember playing basketball with him, Dennis, Pete and our friends.
I´ll always have a place in my heart for my friends dad.

Pete was my dads best buddy. Pete was also a great machinist and taught me how to read a micrometer and inside, outside calipers. A quiet, gentleman, kind man. It was a a pleasure and my honor to have him as my Godfather. Tomorrow at breakfast in Heaven with Gabe, Jerry and my dad Hankie. Good thing breakfast is free or Gabe would have hot water and a bagel. Rest In Peace my friend..God Speed

I was so sorry to read this today. I will always remember Pete, first as an employee of my Uncle Lou at Conetta Mfg, then as the owner of Bren-Dan. I will especially remember how sweet and kind he was. Praying for your family.
