Florence Conetta Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Westchester Funeral Home, Inc. from Nov. 19 to Nov. 20, 2025.
Florence Conetta, a beloved wife/mother/grandmother/great-grandmother and friend whose life was defined by faith, family, and boundless generosity, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, at the age of 100. A longtime resident of Malba, New York, she left behind a legacy of love that touched generations.

Born on July 28, 1925, in New York City to Ada and Ernesto Leonardini, Florence was one of five siblings. In her earliest years, the family moved to Parma, Italy, where she spent the first five years of her life immersed in Italian culture and becoming fluent in the language before returning to New York City.

On October 10, 1948, Florence married Angelo Conetta. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 54 cherished years of marriage until his passing in 2002.

Florence lived her life guided by two great loves: her deep and unwavering Catholic faith and her family. Her faith was a constant source of strength, and she was a devoted parishioner who found joy and purpose in serving her church and community.

Her greatest treasures, however, were her family. She was the proud and loving mother of five children: Lorraine (Dave) of Woodbridge, VA; Ronald of Elka Park, NY; Carl (deceased; Gail) of Yorktown Heights, NY; Audrey (George) of New Rochelle, NY; and Renée (Tony) of Hillsborough, NJ.

Florence poured her heart into her eleven grandchildren: Sean (Amy), Jeremy (Regan), Samantha (Rob), Aaron, John (Gretchen), Nicole (Chris), Matthew, Daniel, Amanda (Steve), Michael (Carly), and Christopher. She delighted in every moment spent with her eleven great-grandchildren: Malana, Sage, Loki, Caleb, William, Mackenzie, Nicholas, Anthony, Christopher, Alexander, and Alyssa.

Florence expressed her love through food, opening her home for countless holidays, Sunday dinners, and everyday meals that brought family and friends together around her table. She loved the outdoors. In her later years, she would spend countless hours sitting outside soaking up the sun and fresh air. Her warmth, generous spirit, and readiness to help anyone in need left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Florence will be deeply missed yet forever remembered and loved by her large and devoted family, her many friends, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and grace.

Rest in peace, Florence. Your light continues to shine in all of us.
