Peter Constable Obituary

Constable, Peter R.
Peter Richard Constable, of Fort Collins, CO, died at Fort Collins Health Care Center on November 14, after a long and valiant struggle with multiple sclerosis. He was 53.
Born on August 30, 1961, he grew up in Darien, CT, graduating from Darien High School in 1979. He worked for several years at Chuck's Steak House and was part of the original staff at Backstreet Restaurant in 1986.
During childhood camping trips, Peter acquired a deep love for the open spaces of the American West, which influenced his decision to leave the East coast in 1989. Moving first to Durango, Peter also lived in Denver before settling in Fort Collins. He always loved the outdoors and working with his hands, becoming a skilled roofer and welder until illness forced his early retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed target shooting, whitewater rafting, and was an avid Harley-Davidson rider. He had a gentle demeanor and a dry, incisive sense of humor, which will be remembered, and missed, by many.
He is survived by his father Richard Constable, his siblings Tom and Martha, his niece Eleanor McGuirk, and his beloved cat Dharma.
A family memorial celebration will be held at a future date. Donations may be made in Peter's memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163, or at nationalmssociety.org.
