Tony,
Today is your day forever my friend. As I went out on my missions today in Iraq, I thought of you. Its been three years and I still am lost for words. Vinny I will see you soon at Fiddlers Green.....
Halfway down the trail to Hell,
In a shady meadow green
Are the Souls of all dead troopers camped,Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddlers’ Green.
Marching past, straight through to Hell
The Infantry are seen.
Accompanied by the Engineers,
Artillery and Marines,
For none but the shades of Cavalrymen
Dismount at Fiddlers’ Green.
Though some go curving down the trail
To seek a warmer scene.
No trooper ever gets to Hell
Ere he’s emptied his canteen.
And so rides back to drink again
With friends at Fiddlers’ Green.
And so when man and horse go down
Beneath a saber keen,Or in a roaring charge of fierce melee
You stop a bullet clean,
And the hostiles come to get your scalp,
Just empty your canteen,
And go to Fiddlers’ Green.
Fiddler’s Green is the legendary afterlife imagined by Cavalrymen. Its origins are obscure, although some point to the Greek myth of the “Elysian Fields” as a potential inspiration.

To Tony's Parents,
I am so sorry that Tony is no longer here. I was Tony's roommate for the Ohio Ambassadors of Music Tour of Europe. I even introduced him to his then girlfriend Jen. I really met a great friend on that trip. He was funny and got along with everyone. (And, he was the first person to get me drunk.)After the trip he came to my home in Lima, OH to show off his new Mustang GT. That was my first and only convertible ride to this day. Throughout the years we seemed to keep in touch even though both of our families moved, phone numbers changed and we went to college. We would catch up and share interesting stories and marvel that we had managed to keep in touch. It had been a few years since I'd heard anything from him so I thought I would look him up on Facebook. It was very upset to learn that he had passed away. He was in a way like a pen pal without the written word. His time came to soon and I just felt compelled to share with you the boundless reaches of your son's charm, good nature and frickin' funny sense of humor. I wish I could say more eloquently that your son was amazing. But simply put, he was the best kind of person. I send my love to your family along with my sympathies.

To the family of Tony---I had the privilege of being Tony's choir teacher at Talawanda HS. He was such a fun-loving character who always brought a smile to everyone's face while giving his absolute best effort. I truly enjoyed the years I spent with Tony and am thankful for that time with him. I know I am a better person for having known him.
My best wishes and prayers for your family. Tony's spirit will never be forgotten.

He was the best a friend a guy could ask for. Tony was never shy and was always there to help you out and make you laugh whether driving around in his Mustang or just hangin out at the barracks. I really cant explain what I feel. Tony was one of a kind and this world needs more people like him around. I love you Tony.---Jon Boy

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised LE RON A. WILSON (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

Dear Vinnedge Family:
You don't know me. I never had the pleasure to meet Anthony either. However, I feel compelled to offer my deepest sympathy and condolences to your entire family. I'm just an average american Joe who owes thanks and respect to your Anthony and his military buddies who hold the line for us. It is because of the un-selfish sacrifices of great americans such as Anthony that we enjoy the freedoms we hold so dear. May god bless Anthony, and welcome him into his kingdom with open arms. May god bless and keep the Vinnedge family during this period of sorrow. I find comfort in the 23rd psalm. I hope you can as well.

To the family of the Hero Angel Anthony:
I did not have the pleasure of knowing Anthony but I know he gave his life protecting me. He was strong enough and brave enough to wear a uniform and to stand up for what he believed in and that was not only protecting me but this country and all those live here. I am saddened though that your family had to lose him for us but I feel a new Angel watching diligently over us now. Anthony's name, information and photo was submitted to me to honor on our Angel Cove Prayer site and we are proud to do this in Anthony'
s honor as a way of remeberance for this brave and selfless young man. His photo will remain indefinitely on the site in our "A Final Salute" album.
May God give you strength and comfort in your hearts in the days and years ahead without your loved one. Thank you for sharing him with us.
May God Bless!

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

Tony truly "sparkled" in life. His life was too short, but he made his life important . His service to our country, his unmatched wit and positive outlook will never be forgotten by those of us who knew him. Let us honor Tony by bringing pieces of his spirit into our own lives--by being a little more kind, a little more positive, and a little more willing to help another. Rest in Peace, Tony. Keep the angels laughing.

We are so sorry for your loss. Freedom is not free and the cost is always very high. Anthony stands as a hero in the finest standards of the United States Army. Please accept our sympathy and prayers during this hard time. On January 22, 2007 we lost our son-in-law in Iraq. Spec. Nicholas Brown was in 2/7 Cav of 1st Cavalry Division. I did not know Anthony, but I am profoundly touched by his sacrifice. I have read the statistics of other brave service men and women, but none have affected me as much as Anthony has. I don't know why? Maybe my life will cease to be so focused on me and the little everyday problems I think are so crucial. Maybe I will be more aware of what freedom really means. Anthony 's life has made a difference! I only wish I was able today to pay honor to him at his service at Hamilton Christian Center.

As a childhood friend of Tony, I am lost for words. I remember times we would hang out, play video games, eat peanut butter sandwiches/chicken patties, and ride bikes. But Tony was a determined person and down to earth. The best way to really explain it, the minute your around him you feel this belonging- better yet you felt as if he was your brother. He fought for our country and was soon to be on his way home, but now he has a home and I just wish I could have had more time to hang out with him. Frank Hughes-

May we all continue to honor the sacrifice you've made by not living lives of fearful passivity, but as those of confident and steadfast Americans. Thank you for the example that you left and the high standard that you set. We love you, Tony.

Tony, It's been a few years since the last time I've seen you. The last time that we hung out was at senior skip day. We went to Houston woods and layed out on the beach. I'm sure you remember, you were the only male out of 15 girls! haha. You were such a great person! Thanks for serving for our country. You will be missed!
