Arlene FURST Obituary

FURST, Arlene Age 87, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Brookdale of Oakwood where she has lived for the last five years. She was born on June 9, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY and has resided in the Dayton area since 1955. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rafael Furst in 2012, and her parents, Aaron and Frieda Mark and sister Gertrude Mark Ogman. She is survived by her children, Gary Furst of Mason, OH, Steven Furst of Portland, OR and Felice Furst Shane (Michael) of Oakwood, 6 grandchildren, Pamela Abromowitz (Daniel), Alison Waxler (Blake), Hope Furst, Lindi Shane Vernick (Adam), Allison Shane and Jordan Shane, 4 great grandchildren, Ellison, Oliver and Henry Abromowitz and Sidney Rae Vernick. Arlene was a lifetime member of Hadassah, B'nai B'rith Women and a longtime member of Beth Abraham Synagogue. A private graveside service will be held. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Oakwood for providing loving care. Memorial contributions may be made to Beth Abraham Synagogue, Alzheimer's Association Miami Valley or the charity of your choice. GLICKLER FUNERAL HOME handling arrangements.

Taking care of Arlene was a great gift to me. I loved sitting with my pretty lady and listen to music. I have great respect for her and will miss her.
