Dear Vanessa and Mike,
Your mom and dad were very special people. They were wonderful friends to my mom and dad, Ralph and Jeanette Hall. We moved to Enon when I was 4 (62 years ago) and were members of Enon United Methodist Church where we met your mom and dad. My dad died unexpectedly in 2004 and Bernie and Jean just adopted my mom and were always checking on her by phone and visiting with her. This meant so much to me and my siblings. I am sorry that I could not be at her memorial service today but I was there is spirit. I know she is in heaven and that she is rejoicing in the presence of Jesus and the many people whose lives she has touched. May God bless you both as you carrying on your parent's legacy of love.
Sincerely,
Kathy (Hall) Paulick

Mike and Vanessa, your mother profoundly touched the hearts and lives of my late wife, Sandra, and me! Bernie was Sandra´s nurse at the Wright-Patterson Medical Center following several surgeries. Sandra cherished Bernie´s compassion and skill. When Bernie was her nurse the second time, Sandra exclaimed, "Oh Bernie, I´m so glad you´re taking care of me again!" With each admission thereafter, Sandra´s and my gratitude for Bernie grew. Later, meeting Bernie and Jean at theater events where they volunteered, Sandra´s and my relationship with Bernie grew to friendship. Your mother made our lives better. I am forever grateful, Stephen.

I met Bernie many years age when we worked at Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi together. We became close friends and even though we had not seen each other for years we continued to stay in contact by text and phone calls. When I got married she flew to Michigan to help out with my wedding. She was a wonderful caring nurse and a wonderful caring friend. Bernie was an unselfish woman who always places the interests of others before her own. I will forever cherish my memories of her. To her family, I am so sorry for your loss. May the Lord comfort all of you as only He can.

Bernie was beautiful inside and out. A talented basket weaver, she taught and encouraged many others. I was lucky to know her and will cherish her memory.
