Beverly SMITH-WALTON

SMITH-WALTON, Beverly Jean Age 74, of Dayton, departed this life Saturday, May 12, 2018. A long-time resident of Dayton, Ohio. Beverly was born on March 5, 1944 to Artence Walton and the late Esrich Walton Sr. She was a graduate of Dunbar High School, class of 1962 and attended Knoxville College. Beverly worked as an Electrical Engineer for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company, currently known as AT&T from 1964 to 1994. She also worked as a contract consultant for AT&T from 1994 to 2017. During her career, she was responsible for designing both telephone and cable lines for the cities of Dayton, Cleveland and Columbus. Beverly enjoyed reading books, pepsi, arts and crafts, bowling and home interior and decorating. Her deep affection for family and friends was undeniable. She was among God's good natured and has left a legacy of her love and perseverance. She is preceded in death by her sister, Sylvia Jackson. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Thomas Smith; children: Jesse Smith Sr., Karen Reid (Darryl) and Elizabeth Gilbert (Chad); (7) grandchildren, (6) great grandchildren; siblings, Helen Schooler and Esrich Walton Jr., along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m., FRIDAY, May 25, 2018 at THOMAS FUNERAL HOME, 4520 Salem Ave., with Supt. Pastor Carl B. Norton, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment: West Memory Gardens.
