Bonnie Shoup Obituary
Bonnie June (Filbrun) Shoup was born on June 13, 1932, to Joseph and Treva (Bowser) Filbrun, in Preble County, Ohio. She passed from this life at Vancrest of New Carlisle on Wednesday afternoon, August 20, 2025, at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 7 days. Bonnie was united in marriage to Norman E. Shoup on August 7, 1949. They were blessed with four children and their companions, Norma June and Brubaker, Douglas and Lorene (Fisher) Shoup, Gale and Debbie (Miller) Shoup, and Janet and Rex Filbrun; 10 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Bruce L. Filbrun, and companion, Ann and sister-in-law, Janice Filbrun. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Norman; father, Joseph Filbrun; mother, Treva (Bowser) Filbrun Auckerman; brother, Ronald J. Filbrun; son-in-law, Rex A. Filbrun; and two great grandsons, Johnny and Josiah Brubaker. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Old German Baptist Brethren Fellowship, 3565 N. Hampton Rd., Springfield, Ohio 45502 on Saturday from 2-5 & 6-8 p.m. Bonnie's funeral service will be held in the church on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Myers Cemetery. Dear Bonnie´s Family,
My name is Susie Ryman, and I did worked part-time at the front desk at Danbury Assisted Living during the time Bonnie lived there. I always enjoyed our conversations-she had such a sweet and kind spirit, and she was wonderful with the other residents. Bonnie´s warmth and helpfulness left a lasting impression on me and residents alike. I missed her deeply when she moved to another community, and I am truly sorry for your loss. Wishing you peace and comfort during this difficult time. With heartfelt sympathy.
