November 14, 2009

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dear Maxwell Family,
Words cannot justify how you all must feel right now, so I'll keep mine short. Cornelius was a friend to me and also my brother. We grew up together in the same neighborhood and same schools. I will truely miss him and he will never be forgotten.

Mr and Mrs Maxwell, Nikki, Sonya and Terry my heart is heavy and my eyes full of tears to learn of Cornelius' untimely and tragic passing. My childhood memories are flooded lovingly with all of you. We were quite the gang. I last saw Cornelius (Jr.) in passing the day before my family was moving to Missouri. I will always regret not slowing down to offer him a big hug and well wishes. I will forever cherish our tree climbing, relay races, kickball games, dance contests, sleep overs and countless hours of childhood play. You are all in my heart and prayers.

First, our condolences to the family in this trying time of grieving and mourning.
Co and I shared many formidable years together growing up in the "Greenwich Village" neighborhood. As boys we attended Fairport Middle School together as Dolphins and then later we became young men at Meadowdale becoming mighty Lions. After high school, Co and I lost touch with one another. This fall I was at a Huber Heights Youth Football game and I seen Co and I said to myself that looks like Cornelius Maxwell. As I approached he said, "What's up JT?" It was like we never missed a beat. We shook hands and caught up over past years. Co told me he was up watching a nephew play ball. It was really good to see Co and I am so glad, especially now, that we took time to share with one another, to speak, and to catch up. Life is so precious, and it seems the older we get the more I realize this. Im glad I had the opportunity to know Cornelius and for him to be a part of my history. God Bless us all!

Ko had zest and love for life. We had many plans for our future, goals to accomplish, and places to see. He was a loving father, playful uncle, a good son, a brother, and my soul mate. We had many good times together and we spoke to each other daily. I spoke to Ko the morning of his death, not knowing it would be the last time I would hear his voice. I want everyone to know he was in good spirits that morning before he was called home to god.

Thank you all for your love and support.

Mr & Mrs Maxwell, my heart is deeply saddened from this double loss. I can't even comprehend the pain and loss you have from losing both sons. After having 3 boys myself, I just pray that God comfort your hearts and keep you and Erica close. Life is so precious yet short. I remember us all playing together (Kristi & Kelli and Andre in the streets). I will remember the good memories.

Mr. & Mrs. Maxwell,Erica(Nikki), and Cornelius's children
I would like to extend my deepest condolences on the loss of your son/brother/father. I've been friend's Co since the 7th grade so my heart is heavy also. We both went to the military after high school and when I got home I was looking for him as I reconnected with the rest of the crew. My last and cherished memory of Co will be when he returned home the guys (Rodney, JC, and Kenny) told me to get out of bed Co was home and they was going to celebrate. When I arrived at the club Co and I hugged for five minutes and all night long I watched him enjoying himself, so happy, so free, loving life and burning a hole in the dance floor.

I will pray for your family to have strength during this time and may you look to GOD for comfort as the days go on. GOD Bless you all.

I was very upset when my step-mother called me yesterday morning to tell me what had happened. I grew up on Blueberry in the 70's & 80's. Cornelius, Eric, and Erica used to come down and play at my house. I was driving down Blueberry and I remember seeing Cornelius sitting outside a few months ago. I was rushing and I wanted to stop but I didn't. I reget that I didn't when I had the chance. This is one missed opportunity that I'll never forget. May God be with your family and comfort you all during your time of sorrow.
