News Death Notice
SMITH, Sr., Daniel D. (78) of Dayton, OH moved to his new home in heaven on 12/14/2015. He graduated Wayne HS in 1955, then joined the Airforce National Guard. He owned/operated Smith Heating & Cooling for 50+years serving as an area employer and mentor. As an avid motorcyclist he was a proud member of the Dayton Motorcycle Club. He lived a life full of adventure and was an awesome American. His motto: Living is fun! He loved the wind in his hair, the road beneath his feet and the warmth of the sun on his skin. His kind and loving spirit touched all that he encountered. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 yrs, Edna (Goforth) Smith, son Daniel Smith Jr., daughters Marjorie (Dale) Harshman, Lois (Ken) Elrich, 5 grandsons, 6 great grandsons, 6 sisters and 1 brother. Dan was preceeded in death by his 2 sons Wesley and Quinton, Father Lloyd Smith, Mother and Stepfather Marjorie & Russell Hageman, and brother David. Memorial Service is Saturday January 16th at Sulphur Grove UMC, 7505 Taylorsville Rd. Huber Heights, Ohio 45424. Visitation at 12:30, services at 2. Flowers will be rcvd at the church or meml contribs can be made to Sulphur Grove UMC or Hospice of Dayton.
