MATHIS, Darrell Age 70 of Spring Valley, OH (formerly of London, KY), husband of Becky Mathis, passed away on Saturday, July 30 at Hospice of Dayton in Dayton, OH. Along with his loving wife of 12 years, he leaves behind two children, Jeffery Mathis and wife Lynn of Somerset, KY, Tina Green and husband Kenny of Jamestown, OH; eight siblings, Raymond, Vernon, Howard, Larry and Michael Mathis, Pauline Vaughn, Carol C. Bill, Joyce Blue; five grandchildren, Ashley and Zack Mathis, Jacob, Brody and Addyson Green, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie David Mathis & Mabel Partin Mathis; two brothers, Lyndon and Bobby Mathis. Darrell was a veteran of the U.S. Army and proudly served his country in Vietnam. He was a retired hairdresser. As a young entrepreneur, he owned and ran Creative World hair salon for about 30 years in Centerville, OH. He found happiness in the friendships he developed over the years. He was a member of Bond Baptist Church, member of the Optimist Club of Dayton, OH, an avid tennis player and enjoyed boating. He loved and cherished his family and friends and will be missed by all. Funeral services for Darrell Mathis will be conducted on Wednesday, August 3 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Mathis cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, also at the funeral home.
