David Poplin Obituary

Poplin, David "Grinner"

David K. Poplin, age 61, passed away on August 8, 2025 while displaying immeasurable strength and love for life at Miami Valley Dayton Hospital, after battling complications since February from a car accident. He was a husband, a father, and a man who loved the outdoors.

He was born on March 27, 1964 in Trenton, to Karl and Peggy Poplin. Graduated from Edgewood High School in the class of '82. He married Nicole Poplin (Wolfe) on April 20, 2011 and experienced unwavering love and laughter. He leaves behind a legacy of children- Michelle Poplin, Beth (Wolfgang) Davis, Allyvia Miller, Lauren (John) Zimmers-McCaughey, and Zachary (Brittany) Anderson. He shared countless memories with his brother Bruce Poplin and sister Diane Poplin. As well as grandchildren- Heidi West, LuAnne West, Dennis West, Brianna Hilsercop, Brayden Anderson, and Benson Anderson. He also leaves behind many family and friends who will miss his contagious laughter.

David will forever be known for his strength, charming "grinner" smile, and countless stories. We are at peace knowing he is fishing in heaven with his trusty sidekick Mack.

David decided to donate his body to science at UC Health in Cincinnati. We are holding a celebration of life in his honor and that will be held at The Meadow Ridge Park (5101 Circle Parkway, Middletown OH 45042) on Sunday August 24th from 10am-5pm. All are welcome to come celebrate his life just as David would want it to be- bring your fishing pole and favorite stories.
