News Death Notice
ZEHRING, David M. age 57, of Xenia, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 18, 2010. He was born April 30, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio. David was preceded in death by father: Richard Zehring; and his mother-in-law: Joan Bertieri. He is survived by his loving wife whom he married November 19, 1971, Christine (Bertieri) Zehring; sons: Ryan (Kellye) Zehring of Springboro; and Michael (Lori) Zehring of Xenia; mother and step-father: Annabelle and Arthur Kretchmer of FL; brothers: Robert (Peggy) Zehring of Kettering; Fred (Carol) Zehring of Xenia; Richard (Kim) Zehring of Bowersville and Gary (Pat) Zehring of Spring Valley; 4 grandchildren: Kelsey, Lindsey, Hayden and Hailey; father-in-law: James Bertieri of Beavercreek; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. David was retired from General Motors-Delphi Plant. He was a graduate of Xenia High School and member of the Spring Valley Church of Christ. He was also an auctioneer. He enjoyed fishing, golf, playing corn hole, camping and bowling. He proudly served four years as the President of the YRC Baseball program. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren. David spent much of his time helping friends and neighbors in numerous ways, including plowing snow and other miscellaneous jobs. Funeral services will be 1 PM Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor Dan Jordan officiating. Burial to follow in Beaver Cemetery, Beavercreek. His family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. My heart felt condolences for the Zehring family. I had the pleasure of working with Dave and Bob at Delco Products. They were stand-out performers in a job well done. Dave was a model of hard work and generous friendship his family can be proud of. Long live his memory of dedication to family, work, neighbors, and friends.

Dear Chris,
I was very saddened to hear about Dave's passing. He was someone that really lived every day to the fullest. While I know that words are only a small gesture of support, I want you to know that his spirit has touched many people's lives as it has mine. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

My sympathy to Dave's wife, children and relatives from all of his classmates at Xenia high 1971. Dave was a queit, friendly guy who we will really miss. Our 40th year reunion is coming up and we will add his name to our Remember Page.

Very sorry for your loss. Worked with Dave at Delco and grew up with Gary and saw Dave alot growing up. He liked to joke with me since I was Rick Martin's little brother. Again my condolences to the whole family.
