There is not a week that goes by that I don't think about Coach Rob while I am out running. He will never be forgotten but more importantly remembered for what a fantastic human he was. I am one of the lucky to have been coached by him.

My regrets though tardy are both sincere and heartfelt. I just ran across this obituary this moment. I am shocked and saddened, but I realize Dennis is enjoying himself right now at the foot of our Lord and Savior's throne. Farewell to my old friend, golfing buddy and fellow Waymen A.M.E. Church member. Gods blessings forever!

Dennis was my colleague, mentor, esteemed and honored rival and most importantly, my friend. We met in 1975 at Jefferson Twp. when I came aboard as a new teacher and coach. I learned a lot from him, "Buff" Taylor and Ronnie "Gunner" Waggoner. Dennis taught me the subtleties and higher thinking / planning and strategies of an effective track coach. We trained together, coached together and spoke often as "Broncos". When I became the coach at Trotwood, we competed against each other as he coached Meadowdale, and he was someone I could still get advice from. I called Dennis "DR" out of respect for his level-headed approach and knowledge; the "DR" represented the title of Dr., as in PhD for his coaching prowess. He was a good man, friend, mentor and role model. His service today was a fine testament to the impact he had on so many. He will be long remembered by us all.
Please accept my remembrances and sympathies for your loss.
Sincerely,
Michael R Andrews "Rocket J"

TO THE ROBINSON FAMILY,

I ran cross country at Jefferson under Coach Robinson. He ruled with an iron fist :), but it paid off in due time. It was such an honor to know him, for he was a beautiful example of a man and leader. He believed in us, which made it easier to believe in ourselves. May the Lord comfort and keep you during this time, and may you share with others as they celebrate the life of a truly remarkable human being.

In our lives, in our joys and in our sorrows, we've learned that there is a time for every matter under heaven. We laugh and we weep. We celebrate and we mourn. With God's amazing grace we somehow bear what seems unbearable. "Love bears all things , believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends." May your priceless memories of Dennis and your enduring love for him sustain you.

Don't know if you will remember me, but back in the early 80's I would meet Coach Robinson at your home at 6am to run through your neighborhood. He would then run with us on the roads of JT during Cross Country practice. I swore that man never got tired. I coached cross country & still run because of him. I consider it an honor to have known him. May God wrap his loving arms around you, comfort you and keep you!

To the Robinson Family,

Thank you so much for allowing Coach Rob to mentor and be surrogate "dad" to so many young men and women. As a track mom, I am forever grateful for the loving kindness he showed not only to my son and daughter, but also to all of the other hundreds of track "children" along his life's path. Coach accepted his divine assignment of growing outstanding men and women, and he did it with excellence! Well done good and faithful servant; well done Coach! Much love to you and your family from the Pullen Family.
