Don was a good man and friend. Enjoyed going to grandkids activities with him. All of you will miss him & think of good things he said or did. Great memories that will make you smile. Take care of each other. He would want that.

Seeing Don always brought a smile to my face. He was the ultimate Middies fan and also a great fan of the city of Middletown and rightfully so. His stories in Facebook brought back some great memories of the town and there sports! RIP friend , you did great in every way!

To the family my wife and I send our heartfelt condolences. Worked 25 years with your dad, what stories we have. My brother in law was Dons first cousin. Chris Sorrell. We had lots of good times at work. Laughing until we cried, always getting on someone. He was a one of a kind.

It was an honor to know Don and call Don a friend. His Middie spirit and love of Middletown will always be a lasting memory.
His love of Middletown, family, and friends will serve as a standard for others to follow.
He will be dearly missed but his life will never be forgotten.
Rest In Peace Don..... Say hello to Woody, Pete, Doc Nisbet, and Tom Wiley for me....

Gonna miss you Mr. Stokes. I am 54 years old but I met you when I was 13. You always had a heart of love and gave me advice on life I have never forgotten. Take Care and Rest In Heaven

My daughter and I first met Don in the bar area of Buffalo Wild Wings in the winter of 2013. The place was crowded in which Megan and I circled the area looking for a place to sit and watch the Michigan State Basketball game. Don was sitting alone and asked if we would like to join "an old man" at his table. A friendship was immediately stuck and we continued our friendship through the years. Don met my entire family and attended many of Megan's NCSU events. He was a man full of love and laughter and a deep commitment to his Buckeyes. My family was so blessed to have Don walk into our lives. Love to the Stokes Family.
