Edra Eloise STILWILL

1915 - 2017

STILWILL, Edra Eloise Age 101 of Dayton, OH, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born December 28, 1915 in New Castle, Indiana, the daughter of the late Lester and Gladys (Reason) Land. She married Charles E. Stilwill on June 19, 1948 in Dayton, OH and he preceded her in death as well. Eloise was an active member of Eastmont United Methodist Church in Dayton, OH. In Sunday School she was often called upon to pronounce difficult Bible names and passages. Eloise enjoyed helping at church functions and had a strong faith in God which was reflected in her treatment of others. Over the course of 70 years she worked as a manicurist at various beauty salons, retiring in her late 80's. Her favorite pastimes were crossword puzzles, reading, reciting poetry and playing cards with family and friends. Eloise loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all. Eloise is survived by her daughter, Diane K. Stilwill; a sister, Betty Sowder; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Lois Ziegenthaler, Barbara Beard and Catherine Irma Chromick; and a son, David Stilwill. A visitation will be held August 1, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 pm. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
