Sorry I just found that June had passed. I no longer get Dayton paper.
Jun e was the mom friend always ready to listen and give advise. Heaven gained an angel to walk along side another, your dad. Such great people.

June was my best friend for many years, growing up together, attending Stivers High School. I was in the class before her older brother Neil, who was my husband for nearly 70 years. She was younger than I and she loved to go out to movies. We enjoyed the Stivers Tigers football games, too. My family and the Jackson family all attended Central Baptist Church in the neighborhood, where Neil and I were married. I have a lot of sweet memories of those special days at church when all the mothers wore corsages on Mother's Day, and when the church was decorated for holidays. Of course we were all there to help and those were fun times. I hope you will all remember we were all not only related, but a church family as well. Love, Wilma Jackson

My favorite memories of Aunt June are, of course, at the lake. I can still hear her yelling, "Good Morning!" at the top of her lungs, sometimes before we even got up. One Sunday afternoon, June was leaving the lake and she came over to say goodbye. My friend, Tom Beatty, kissed her goodbye, then backed up and grinned, and said: "You've never been kissed until you've been kissed by one of the Jackson girls!" My condolences to all the family - love, Shari

June loved getting to the lake on a Friday evening when days were long in summer--she'd head down to the water, the sun was still out until 8:00 or 9:00 and the air and water were so warm. She would "take a bath," which was just a dip in the water with a little soap on her face and arms. So refreshing after a long car ride. One evening several of us went to the shore together and June asked, "Do you remember that Girl Scout song?" and we sang it. Just like that. (Being a teenager, I'd normally have faked laryngitis rather than sing a Girl Scout song! But it was tremendous fun.) I'll always remember her that way, so content with Roy and Deb and Kim, enjoying simple pleasures like a quick dip and singing with anyone who'd join in a song. My mom caught June laughing at a joke on Dad's boat one day and it's as happy as happy gets. Deb, Duane, Kim and Bobby, we grieve with you that this happiness is no longer with us in the same way, yet we'll always be grateful to have shared in the joy.
