Gary Goldflies Obituary
GOLDFLIES, Gary X., age 75, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at his residence. Gary was the owner of JCS Enterprises and longtime member of Temple Israel. He had a huge passion for cars and bikes, especially the classics. He loved lunching, riding his bicycle, the color black, big furry hats, crazy sunglasses and he had a huge love for animals. The world is infinitely less fun without our sweet GXG in it.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Iris Schwartz Goldflies; his beloved parents, Benjamin & Joan Goldflies and his sister, Candace Goldflies. He is survived by his daughter, Iris (Casey) Goldflies Garman; sister, Shelly (John) Hickman; brother, Greer Goldflies; grandchildren, Lola & Ava Harvey, Allison, Branden & Logan Garman; great-grandson, Archer; nephew, Benjamin Hickman; niece, Anne Hickman; devoted family friend, Brenda Osborn and many other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Riverview Cemetery, 1809 West Schantz Avenue at 12 Noon on Monday, August 14, 2023 with Rabbi Karen Bodney-Halasz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice of Dayton or the Humane Society of Dayton in Gary's memory. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Marker & Heller Funeral Home, North Main Street Chapel.

Back in 1968 I worked for Ralph Skilken at Acme Miami Vending on a cigarette route and Gary rode with me so I could teach him the business , it was a deal between Benny and Ralph because Benny wanted to get into the cigarette machine business in his bars. Benny bought me a Bulova Accutron watch as a gift for my part in teaching Gary about the business., which I still have today. Gary and I were both into cars and remained friends our whole lives , with him frequently coming to my Cruise In on Friday night in Beavercreek.

We miss you, the Cruise In just isn´t the same without you. We first met in 1969 and our mutual love of cars bonded us for a friendship for a lifetime. Miss you Gary.

I will always miss him coming through the doors at Geez! Always ordering food and dessert for someone else. That was Gary. A gift certificate from his favorite pet store to me at Christmas. I will always miss you and your very kind generosity and your love of animals. Sleep tight my friend.

There was never a dull moment growing up with Candy and Gary. Although our paths did not cross often as adults, the thing I always loved most about Gary was his kind heart, gentle spirit and quirky sense of humor and that is how I will remember him always. To the loved ones he leaves behind, please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and I am wishing for each of you whatever soothes your spirit, comforts your soul and brings you peace.
