Gary Nichols Obituary
Gary Allyn Nichols, 75, of Fairfield Township, passed away on October 2, 2023. He was born on October 29, 1947, in Cleveland, OH to Basil "Bud" and Pauline (Kozak) Nichols, both of whom preceded him in death. Gary was also preceded in death by his sister Linda Nichols and son Jason France. Gary was a devoted husband to Laura (Kill) Nichols, brother to Penny Nichols, and a loving father to Robin Nichols Delaughter, Mark (Rachel) Nichols, Kristin (Raymond) Bramblett, and Kari France. He was also a cherished grandfather to Dean (Emily) Delaughter, Jason France II, Miranda and Kendall Nichols, Audrey and Joel Bramblett, and Jack Lazroff.
Gary was a proud Army Veteran! After his military service, he pursued higher education at Kent State. Gary then embarked on a successful career, first with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and later with Cincinnati Insurance Companies, where he dedicated his time and efforts from 1978 until his retirement in January 2014.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 5th, at the Fairfield Community Arts Center from 2 to 6pm. Please come with your favorite Gary story to share starting at 3:30. The family will be providing a light lunch and beverages. Gary would want to keep this casual so please no suits! His greatest wish would be for you to attend in Cleveland Browns gear (or Ohio State).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Hospice of Hamilton in memory of Gary.
Gary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.

I met with retired RFCM Tedd Ritchie and Curt Nutter last evening in Athens, Ohio to catch up (we haven't seen each other for some time)...it wasn't
minutes into our conversation that Gary's name was mentioned (Curt worked in both Region 1 and HQ Claims for years with Gary) and Tedd and I worked with Gary and his Region 1 staff.
We all said Gary was a kind and strong leader; and cared deeply for those who worked with him...Gary's dry humor and wit often helped us all cope in difficult times.
On a personal note, I miss Gary & Laura (snowbirds) living up the street from us in Florida, though I know Gary is now safely with his Lord and Savior in Heaven, awaiting his loved ones and friends.
You are deeply missed, good friend.

Gary was a remarkable man, who left a large legacy with the Cincinnati Insurance companies.
Gary was kind, professional, intelligent and humble (along with a very dry humor).
Over the years Gary mentored many people, with his "Servant Leadership" style, strong work ethic and strong morals.
I truly miss my good friend.

Laura and family, Gary was my my greatest mentor. We became friends when I was employed with Cincinnati Insurance. He recruited me into headquarter property claims. He was a great leader and teacher. I have and will always miss him. My deepest sympathy. Karen Roop

Gary and I graduated together as part of the 92nd academy class in 1971.Gary was our class speaker and did an outstanding job.My condolences to the Nichols family and may he rest in peace.

I remember playing a round of golf with Gary and Nate several years ago. For 5 hours that day , I was blessed to be with 2 men that I respected so much. God bless Gary and his entire family. So very sad to hear this news.
