Family-Placed Obituary
SPEELMAN, George William Age 89 of Dayton, passed away Friday, November 4, 2005. He was born June 10, 1916. He was a retired Assistant Fire Chief at WPAFB with 33 years of service, a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII, he was Past Worthy Patron of the Farmersville O.E.S., Master Mason of Farmersville Lodge #482, and a member of the Oak Creek United Church of Christ. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years Norma Ellen (Ankney) Speelman. Surivivors include his son George Samuel Speelman and special friend Judy Tilton, daughters Suzi Selvage and husband Donald, Elyn Siefer and husband Richard, Sally Siefer and husband Donald, Merry Moore and husband Thomas, Leslie Finster and husband Paul, special daughter Sandra Hollingsworth, brother Paul Speelman and wife Mary, sisters Dorothy Lorene Dillon, Helen Joan Sherline and Iva Jean Eyler, 28 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Speelman's remains were donated to Wright State School of Medicine. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in his memory

The family of Chief George W. Speelman:
It was with deep regret when I learned of the passing of Chief Speelman. I worked under his indirect command in Station One for a number of years. At the time I was a Captain in the Fire Dept. My prayers are with each of you.
