News Death Notice
JIVIDEN, Glenn J. (Colonel USAF Ret./DDS) Age 83 peacefully passed away on July 4, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Pearl Jividen. Glenn is survived by Doris, his wife of 58 years; children, Dr. Glenn (Kathleen) Jividen Jr., David (Mary) Jividen, Grace (Jim) Truesdale, Diana (Juan Carlos Andreu) Jividen, Eric (Sonja) Jividen; grandchildren, Phillip, Lila, Maria, Angela, Mia, Sophia, Luis, Maya, Avalyn and his siblings, Joyce and James Jividen. Glenn graduated from The University of Buffalo School of Dentistry with his periodontics specialty residency completed at Tufts University. He enjoyed his service to others by a full Air Force career, followed by private practice, VA service, and teaching at Miami Valley Hospital. He served as president of the Dayton Dental Society and the Ohio Association of Periodontics. He had many hobbies and interests including long distance running, ham radio and car collecting. He was a loving and generous husband, father, and grandfather. A visitation will take place on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 5pm until 9pm at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME- BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Friday, July 8, 2016 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Lebanon, OH. Final interment will take place in Dayton National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.

Dr Jividen was a family friend for over forty years and my periodontist for thirty. He was a kind, gentle man who I adored. I only knew Grace and Glenn Jr but if the other children were anything like those two, they were brought up very well by Glenn Sr and Doris. I miss you, Glenn, but know you are in the arms of our Lord.

My sincere sympathy to the Jividen family. I met Dr Jividen as a dental patient at WPAFB in 1975 and saw him yearly through 2016. I will miss this wonderful dentist-his expertise, and kind, gentle way. God Bless.

To The Jividen family
The Cooper, family want to wish our deepest condolences for your loss. Glenn was a wonderful person who we had great respect. For more than 40 years Glenn was a personal friend colleague and confidant to our family. When I think of Glenn his military service his private practice and his devotion to his family I marvel at his accomplishments. From our children going to high school together to sharing personal vacations we have known Glenn has a man of great integrity. My condolences and prayers to the Dr. Glenn Jividen family and his staff for God's strength in this time of grieving. I met Dr. Jividen in 1985 when he performed my periodontal surgery and continued to use his services and advice through 2016. I will remember him as a caring and competent professional. He will be missed by many in the community, myself included.

Even if I never met Mr. Jividen in person due to physical distance , I had the great pleasure to know part of his family recently, children and grandchildren, and can only say that a man who raised such a nice and wonderful people, necessarily had to be a great and loving person. Glenn had a heart the size of Mt Everest. His zest for life - learning, and of course, debating, is a lesson for all of us. Most of all his ability to bring laughter when you least expect it. With that being said, I'm sure he'd chuckle when I say, God is good beer is great and people are crazy.

It was pure chance that brought me to the Jividen dental practice and even more significant that Glen Sr and I knew each from our volunteer work at the Air Force Museum. I remember very fondly our Sunday mornings at the Nissan Hut exhibit where we swapped "war" stories of our Air Force days. Glen rest in peace and my deepest sympathy to your friends and family.
