Family-Placed Obituary


BLANKENSHIP, Harold G. age 80 of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, July 20, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. Harold was born in Hazard, KY on Jan. 16, 1927 to the late Claude and Mabel (Thompson) Blankenship. Harold served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific in WW II, he retired from Dayton Power and Light Co., with 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Jeri in July of 2006, 2 sons Steven and Jeffery, great-granddaughter Frances Nickel and 2 sisters Jewel Davis and Helen Bond. Harold is survived by his son and daughter-in-Jaw Michael and Cynthia Blankenship of Kettering, daughter and son-in-law Connie and James Nickel of Brookville, 5 grandchildren Lee (Christine) Nickel, Sean Nickel, Brandi Mantia Julie Blankenship and Stacy Blankenship and 3 great-grandchildren Makayla Mantia, Alexandra Nickel and Olivia Nickel. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastr Rob Wackerman officiating at the SANNER FUNERAL HOME, 800 SO. ALEX RD., WEST CARROLLTON. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday July 23, 2007 from 5-7 pm. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Harold's memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
