News Death Notice

TALMADGE, Helen C. (Gastauer) age 86 of Englewood, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Helen was a member of the Englewood United Methodist Church, and was retired from the Bethpage School District in Bethpage, New York where she worked as a school secretary. Helen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Carol & Bob Amsbaugh of Englewood, granddaughter and her husband: Jessica & Sean McNary of Clayton, great grandsons: Dylan & Bryce McNary, and brother-in-law: Al Lusk of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her husband: Fred Talmadge in 1996, parents: George & Caroline (Book) Gastauer, and sisters: Ada McGoldrick & Gean Lusk. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17, at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood) with Rev. George Sidwell officiating. Interment will follow the service at Arlington Cemetery near Brookville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to either the Alzheimer's Association or the Northmont Education Foundation, envelopes will be provided. I am sorry for your lost. I always enjoyed talking to Mrs. Helen as I transported her to the Senior Center on the PMOB bus. I will miss her.
