Family-Placed Obituary


BOCHENEK, Henry A. Age 88 of Riverside, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Day Springs Nursing Home. He was retired from Frigidaire after 47 years of service. Mr. Bochenek was a veteran of the Army Air Corps having served his country during W.W.II. He was a member of the Three C's, Knight's of Columbus 4424, VFW Post 3283 and was a lifetime member of the Polish Club and the P.R.C.U. Henry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting & fishing and will be fondly remembered for his fish fry's and sausage making. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph; and 2 sisters, Sophie Plummer and Mary Lou August. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Irene; 7 children: Judy Lingg & husband Fabian, Mike Bochenek, Frank Bochenek & wife Maralene, Monica Zimmerman & husband Tony, Mary Sparks & husband Bill, Tom Bochenek & wife Chris, John Bochenek; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank ; 4 sisters: Josephine Ivory, Ceal Bayham, Florentine Brzozowski, Phyllis Palmer; 4 half-sisters, Dorothy, Vicky, Alice, Linda; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. Friends may call Tuesday, May 10, 2005, from 4 to 8 PM at the MAGETTI GAVIN FUNERAL HOME, 1508 Valley Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Saint Adalbert Catholic Church with Father Michael Holloran Celebrant. Prayers 9:30 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. The Bochenek Family would like to extend a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at Dayton Heart Hospital, Grandview Hospital, and Dayspring Nursing Home for their care of Mr. Bochenek. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Vincent Hotel or to a charity of your choice in memory of Henry.

I will always remember Uncle Henry as a guy who loved to share stories; he loved to tell them and he loved to hear them. He had good stories, too. For his sake, I hope that they have fishing in heaven. And card games and fish frys, too. God bless Henry Bochenek.
