Howard Beal Obituary


News Death Notice

BEAL, Howard M. age 87 of Conover passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2008 in Riverside Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was born on August 4, 1921 in Fairborn, Ohio, the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Armstrong) Beal. He married Mary Elizabeth Francis on February 16, 1948 and she preceded him in death on March 31, 1978. He leaves behind four children: James Beal of Saint Paris, Barbara (John) Black of San Antonio, TX, John (Melissa) Beal of Conover, and Charles (Susan) Beal of New Carlisle. He was a loving grandfather to Lauren, Jordan, Emily and Isaac Beal. In addition to his parents and wife, a sister, Grace Wilgus preceded him in death. Mr. Beal was a 1939 graduate of Brown Township High School. He formerly attended the Lena Baptist Church. He was engaged in farming and served as a Brown Township Trustee for 23 years. He also served on the Miami County Fair Board. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main Street, Fletcher with Reverend Philip Schumm of the Lena Baptist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
