James SCHURMAN Obituary


News Death Notice

SCHURMAN, James H. Age 83 passed away peacefully on November 5, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Isadore and Margaret (Sudhoff) Schurman, daughter Linda Lou, grandchildren Olivia Rose and Parker Bernard, and his sister Mary Ann Preston. Jim is survived by his wife Carla (Van Nuys) of 57 years, daughters Angie Monnin, Sheila Schurman Bernard (Scott), and Brent Schurman. His grandchildren, Chelsea Monnin (John Reagan), Caleb Monnin (Alyssa) and Peyton Bernard, his brothers Robert (Sharon), Paul (Cindy), Walter (Cathy) and many nieces and nephews. Jim proudly served in the USAF 1951 - 1955, Alaska Air Defense Command, Rank S/SGT. Jim retired from PNC Bank. His favorite color was red. Jim considered himself very handy and his favorite tools were Velcro and Duct Tape. The family will be having a private ceremony at a later date and Jim will be interred at the Dayton Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Parker Bernard Scholarship Fund, 3075 Fairmont Avenue, Kettering, Ohio 45429.
