James Wilson Sr.

WILSON, Sr., James E. Age 71 departed this life on life on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born in Bristol, PA on July 18, 1945 to the late Charles Wilson, Gertrude Wilson Laws and Kenneth Laws, Sr. James was a graduate of Bristol High School, Wilberforce University and Antioch University Graduate School. He taught in the Dayton Public School System and later became the director of admissions at Wright State University and the EEO officer at the Monsanto Research Center. He was a member of Unity Church of Dayton and he attended Zion Baptist Church. James is preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Wilson, Jr., and two sisters, Charlotte Wilson and Gertrude Wilson of Bristol, PA. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline, two sons, James (Erica) Wilson, Jr. of Dayton, OH, Jason Wilson of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, James Wilson, Ill and Jordyn Wilson of Dayton, OH, sister, Eleanor (Dante) Deshields of Bristol, PA, nephew, Michael Wilson of Dayton, OH, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Zion Baptist Church, 1684 Earlham Drive, Dayton, OH, 45406, with Rev. Dr. Rockney Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00am -11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wilberforce University or Zion Baptist Church. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff at Miami Valley Hospital for their extensive medical professionalism. Final disposition, cremation.
