Baker (Garrett), Jean R.

Jean R. Baker, age 95, of Morgan Township, Oho, passed away on September 1, 2025 at McCullough Hyde Hospital in Oxford, Ohio. She was born on March 18, 1930, in Hamilton, Ohio the daughter of Clarence and Lillian (Vogel) Garrett. On February 17, 1951, she married Allan L. Baker and together they raised three children. She was a member of Okeana United Methodist Church and the Butler County Farm Bureau. Jean was a hard-working farmer's wife and enjoyed gardening and working on the farm with her husband, Allan. In 1970, Jean and Allan founded Baker Hardware. A lot of her time was spent working in the Hardware store where she especially liked visiting with all of the customers. Jean enjoyed people, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her beloved dogs. She is survived by her children, Nancy (Colonel Jerry) Johnson, Mike (Kristy) Baker, and Jill (Steve) Ruoff; grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Sarah (Jared) Craft, Justin (Dana) Baker, Katie (Josh) Ranes, Kyle Baker, Ryan Jackson, Cory (Lyndsey) Jackson, Andrea (Larry) Johnson, Jill (Ryon) McKee, and Kristy (Joe) Leach; great grandchildren, Cheyanne, Angelica, Laura, Savannah, Jaxon, Ethan, Kennedy, Greyson, Eloise, Adrian, Carter, Jude, Amelia, Bennett, Ellie, Rowan, Lincoln, Anna, Maddie, Jameson, and Chloe, one sister, Mary Jane (the late Steve) Komlos; and many other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allan; and two brothers, James and Jackie Garrett. Visitation will be held at Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Road, Ross, OH on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10 a.m. with burial following in New London Cemetery.
