Mr. Gorkis was one of my favorite teachers at Meadowdale HS. I remember talking him into selling big dill pickles in the DE Bookstore. It really didn´t take much talking though and the pickles were a big hit!!! Rest well Mr. Gorkis.

Sheila, you have our deepest condolences on the passing of your dear soulmate John. You and I have been friends ever since we lived next door to each other on Center Street in the early 1980's. When John came into your life about that time I was so happy for you. Your years together have been a blessing to both of you and to all those around you. We will miss his happy smile, his kind words, and his passion for antiques, history and preservation. The world, and all of us, are better because we have known John Gorkis.
