News Death Notice

LAPENNA, John J. Age 51, of Huber Heights, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010. John was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Betty Lapenna; and by one aunt, Phyllis McDorman. John is survived by his step-mother, Jean Lapenna; one brother, Kenneth Lapenna; two aunts, Mary E. Uzzel & Alberta Matthews; his care-givers for the past 13 years, Mildred Penn and Anita & Brian Kitchen; and by his "family" & friends with the Montgomery County Board of DDS. Despite Johns Muscular Dystrophy he was thoughtful, helpful & would try to do anything to please you. He had a great laugh & brought joy into all the lives around him. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m., Friday. Pastor Sam Sampley will officiate. Interment at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made in memory of John to the Montgomery County Board of DDS Recreation Program. To send a special message to the family, please visit www.NewcomerDayton.com.
