News Death Notice

PEYTON, Joseph R. "Joe" age 60 of Dayton passed away at home after a brief illness on July 8, 2010. Joe retired from the Dayton Daily Newspapers as a Journeyman Mailer in October 2009. He was a 32nd degree free mason. He was a charter member of Huber Heights lodge #0777. Joe was an Air Force reserves veteran. He was a past president of local N126 Graphic Communications Conference International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He was a member of the Browns Backers of Greater Dayton. Joe was preceded in death by parents Laban and Thelma Peyton and his brother Larry Peyton. Survived by wife, L. Katherine "Midge" (Sutton) Peyton. Daughter Carrie (Peyton) Taylor and son-in-law Robert Taylor of Kettering. Daughter Laura (Peyton) Rozier and son-in-law Toumani Rozier of Kettering. Grandchildren Natalie and Micah Rozier and Alexander, Peyton, and Samuel Taylor. Brother Michael Peyton and sister-in-law Judy of Union. Numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews. Joe was an avid fishermen, he loved the Cleveland Browns, and spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. Joe will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd., Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 2 to 5 pm. Huber Heights Lodge # 0777 will conduct services at 4:45 pm Sunday, to be followed by a funeral service at 5 pm. Reverend David Turner officiating.
