69, of Dayton passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Miami Valley Hospital. She is preceded in death by her mother Mary White; husband William C. Joyner, Sr.; and brother Albert White. Julia is survived by her sons William Joyner, Jr. and Eric Joyner; daughter Karen Joyner; loving companion Herbert Jackson; sisters Sarah Thomas and Racheal Scott; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; adopted daughter Grace Prater; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. Julia retired from the Senior Citizen Center after working in Food service at Wright State University. Funeral services will be held 7:00PM Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd. Family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00PM prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, 1 Diamond Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45403. To send a special message to the family please visit www.NewcomerFamily.com. My deepest condolences to the Joyner Family, I remember Julia when she worked at Wright State University, and she was such a caring and thoughtful person. I am sure she will be truly missed, may God bring comfort to you in your time of sorrow.

Ms Julia was a sweet lady and a hard worker. I worked with her for almost 2 years not directly but I did see that she was a very hard worker and loved her job. She also loved her bingo. She will greatly missed and may God Bless her family
